An attic-flat comedy built on an unexpected living arrangement
Eric Chappell’s play begins when student Alan discovers that his new attic flat is not as empty as expected. Philip, already in residence, offers an elaborate account of his background, claiming to be the son of an African chief with ten wives waiting at home. The setup places Alan’s practical problem alongside Philip’s unlikely self-presentation, creating a compact comic premise for four performers. Published as a script, the edition is suited to reading, study, or staging, with a cast specified as one woman and three men.
