A young genius takes on injustice

Matilda brings a five-year-old genius into conflict with cruelty at home and bullying at school. The story’s central challenge is her encounter with Miss Trunchbull, a headmistress described as hating children; Matilda’s intelligence becomes part of her stand against unfair treatment. This full-color illustrated edition pairs Roald Dahl’s story with new artwork by Sarah Walsh, giving the book a visual presentation alongside its themes of courage, justice, and resistance to bullies.
