Louisa Gagliardi’s digital images on canvas
This first monograph on Swiss artist Louisa Gagliardi introduces works made through image editing and printed on canvas. The description places them between painting, graphic design and advertising, with attention to how images negotiate flatness and depth, dimensionality and translucence. It also points to a tension between the enigmatic and the banal, and between digital imagery and painterly marks. At 64 pages, the book offers a focused introduction to an artist’s practice and the visual questions that shape it.
