A child’s view of summer

A little girl notices summer through the changes and activity around her: vegetables growing in a garden, butterflies among flowers, and the season’s shifting weather. The picture-book premise gathers familiar parts of the natural world—plants, insects, animals, and sunshine—into a child’s celebration of the season. It offers a simple way to notice what makes summer distinct, with a companion title, *When Spring Comes*, placing it within a series about the seasons.

Good fit for readers who enjoy
