A night of web-making

Weaver’s nighttime routine gives this nonfiction picture book a close-up view of an orb-weaver spider’s work: finding a place to build, spinning a web, and catching insects. When the web breaks soon after its first catch, the night’s activity shifts as Weaver searches for another suitable spot, with a little help along the way. The premise connects details of spider behavior with a simple problem to follow, keeping web-making and bug-catching at the center of the book.

Good fit for readers who enjoy
