The writing is for dogs at large; the pictures are the breed's.
An earth dog from the Highlands and islands, kept for centuries to go to ground after vermin and fixed as a type by Aberdeen breeders in the 1870s, the Scottie became one of the most recognisable silhouettes of the twentieth century. Here it is, in its own period.
