Weather lessons take a wild turn

As Ms. Frizzle’s class prepares projects for a Wild Weather Show, a field trip to Weatherama Amusement Park brings their subject into close view when the Magic School Bus enters a tornado. The book connects the class’s adventure with an introduction to tornado formation, where tornadoes occur in the United States, and the damage they can cause. Its classroom-project framing gives the weather information a clear context, while the amusement-park trip supplies the setting for exploring the topic.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Children ages 9–12 interested in weather and natural phenomena
  • Young readers who enjoy school-based adventures
  • Readers looking for an introductory book about tornadoes
