AlbakiReads Editorial

A pirate adventure drawn by the reader

The pirate and his parrot need help with a map, a buried treasure, and a mysterious chest—and the reader supplies that help with a dry-erase marker. Drawing tasks bring the adventure’s challenges into the pages, including hungry sharks, difficult waters, and a sea serpent. Because the pages can be wiped clean, the book invites children to revisit the activities and draw again. Its interactive format makes creative mark-making part of how the story unfolds, not just an extra activity alongside it.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Children who enjoy drawing and doodling
  • Young readers interested in pirates, maps, and treasure hunts
  • Families looking for a reusable, hands-on book activity
