A cumulative ocean adventure with sea-life facts

The familiar accumulating pattern of the Old Lady books moves underwater here: an old mermaid swallows a growing assortment of sea creatures, from a shark and squid to a clam. The comic premise is paired with brief facts about the animals, giving the story a light nonfiction element. Expanded back matter adds more information about sea creatures, and a search-and-find game offers another way to engage with the book’s ocean subject. The combination of repeated silliness, animal names, and simple informational extras keeps the focus on exploring marine life through play.
