Taika’s Reason, Vol. 2

In a society reshaped by a declining birth rate, dogs and cats have been transformed into humanized members of the community, raising questions about the boundary between human and animal. This volume brings that premise into school and social life: Taika tries out for basketball while struggling to understand its rules, and complications gather around Ao’s romantic entanglements. The arrival of Anna, a mysterious catperson who threatens Taika with blackmail and attacks a classmate, adds a sharper conflict and a question of identity. The volume combines speculative social premises with school relationships and interpersonal tension.
