A wish with unexpected consequences

Sylvester’s discovery of a wish-granting pebble sets a simple magical premise against a child’s sudden encounter with danger. The story turns on the unforeseen consequences of one wish and on Sylvester’s eventual reunion with his family. Its compact 32-page format and picture-book illustrations place the adventure squarely in the realm of read-aloud fiction for younger children.
