A forbidden basement, a family mystery, and unsettling plants

In this graphic-novel adaptation of a Goosebumps story, Margaret and Casey Brewer have a reason to question the rule keeping them out of the basement: their scientist father has been acting strangely. His secret plant experiment turns their curiosity into a family mystery, with the possibility that the plants have minds of their own. The off-limits room gives the siblings’ investigation a clear boundary to cross, while their father’s involvement makes what they find more personal than an ordinary encounter with creepy plants.

Do not enter . . . or else!

The basement is strictly off limits to Margaret and Casey Brewer. Their scientist dad is running a secret experiment with plants and doesn't want them upsetting the delicate ecosystem he's created. But Margaret and Casey decide a quick peek won't hurt anyone. Their dad has been behaving very strangely and they have to know what's going on down there. The truth they find is way stranger than fiction--these plants just might have minds of their own!
