AlbakiReads Editorial

A look at the dental hygiene career path

Lisa Nitkowski frames dental hygiene as a career decision to examine from more than one angle. The guide follows the path from school into professional work, presenting what someone considering the field might expect at each stage. Its “good, bad, and ugly” framing signals an interest in the less appealing parts of the job as well as its attractions. Nitkowski says her aim is to inform, not to persuade readers either to enter or avoid the profession. That makes the book a starting point for weighing the training and working life together, rather than considering either in isolation.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • People considering dental hygiene school
  • Prospective dental hygienists curious about working in the field
