Friendship shifts as Mitsumi juggles school and romance

In this eighth volume, Mitsumi and Sousuke face a change in their relationship as their friendship edges toward romance. Mitsumi is also trying to keep several parts of school life in view at once: her grades, friendships, and student council responsibilities. The setup brings romantic uncertainty together with the everyday demands of being a student, while the series’ humorous classification points to a comic-book context for these developments. The volume’s central tension is how Mitsumi’s many ambitions fit alongside a new possibility with Sousuke.
