Norse myths told from women’s perspectives

Eight illustrated Norse myths are retold through the voices of female figures, shifting attention to their roles in familiar legends. The stories range from Freyja’s part in a peace treaty between the Aesir and Vanir to Skadi’s pursuit of vengeance after her father’s death. Other named tales include Frigg’s effort to protect Baldur, Iddun’s kidnapping, and Gefjon’s creation of an island. The description also notes a story narrated by Loki, who recounts Thor’s hammer being rescued while Loki is disguised as a maid. Together, the collection foregrounds women’s actions and perspectives within Norse myth.
