From soap star to film audition

Ruby Parker’s move from television soaps toward a first major film audition gives the novel its central question: what comes after becoming a child star? The possibility of landing a part in a blockbuster raises the stakes, while Ruby’s uncertainty about whether missing out would really be “not the end of the world” brings the pressure close to home. Fame and ambition are woven into a story about facing a high-profile opportunity and the doubts that accompany it. The book is a follow-up to *Ruby Parker Soap Star*.
