A hidden calling and a threat to Araluen

After completing her third-year ranger assessment, Maddie is summoned back to Castle Araluen, where royal duties conflict with the training she must keep secret. The Red Fox Clan—a masked group challenging the succession of Princess Cassandra and Madelyn—brings that personal tension into a wider threat to the kingdom. Continuing the story arc begun in *The Royal Ranger: A New Beginning*, the novel pairs a young apprentice’s struggle over her role with a challenge to Araluen’s future leadership.

  • Readers following Maddie and Will’s continuing story in the Ranger’s Apprentice world.
  • Young readers interested in fantasy adventure involving ranger training, royal succession, and a threatened kingdom.
