A Halloween protest in rhyme

When the pumpkins object to carving, scooping, and being left on porches, they take their complaint on the road—and put Halloween in jeopardy. The setup turns familiar seasonal traditions into a comic disagreement, with children facing the task of making peace before the holiday is spoiled. Rhyming verse frames the action, while respect and teamwork provide the story’s broader themes. The description positions it as a playful, not-too-spooky take on pumpkin season and Halloween.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Children who enjoy rhyming read-alouds and Halloween stories
  • Families and classrooms looking for a seasonal story about teamwork and respect
  • Kids who like comic, silly takes on familiar fall traditions
