Nineteen stories in conversation
Gloria E. Anzaldúa’s *Prieta Is Dreaming* brings together nineteen stories described as intertwined, giving the collection a connected shape rather than presenting its pieces as wholly separate. The subtitle, *A cuentos-novela*, signals a form that sits across the boundaries of story collection and novel. The supplied description offers little detail about the stories’ settings or subjects, so the book’s structure and genre are the clearest points of entry.
Good fit for readers who enjoy
- Readers interested in interconnected short fiction.
- Readers curious about forms that cross the boundary between stories and novels.
- Readers exploring fiction by Gloria E. Anzaldúa.
