Book overview
When Caitlyn finds a local teen bitten by a werewolf, she attempts to use her powers to heal him.
But can she save Dean from capture by her commander, who would experiment on him?
In a world torn apart by the Sorrow-a devastating change that unleashed vicious cryptids, caused family and friends to disappear from Earth, and gave rise to children born with strange powers - Caitlyn is part of that first, despised generation. Torn from her family, tested in the labs, and finally forced into Camp Sparta, one of the military's brutal training grounds for people with these new abilities, she's been molded into a living weapon to hunt cryptids with her magic.
But when she aids a local teen, Dean, attacked by werewolves, Caitlyn rejects her duty and attempts to heal his infection with her powers, rather than kill him. Her secret threatens to tear her from her closest friends, but she follows her conscience and her heart, no matter the cost.
Alone, Caitlyn chooses to save Dean and take charge of her future.
