A day in Canada through words, play, and place

French and Cree greetings open a child’s day in Canada, where maple-syrup crepes, snowy play, park games, and an ice rink bring everyday experiences into view. Pronunciation guides weave language learning into the story, while extended endnotes offer additional insights into life in Canada. The book combines a sense of place with small details of daily life, giving young readers several points of entry into the country’s languages and activities.

Book overview

"This series offers solid glimpses of faraway places, more poetry than a tour guide . . . evocative and inviting" - School Library Journal

Good morning! Bonjour! Tānisi! Spend a day in Canada. Eat soft crepes with sticky maple syrup, play with atimwak in the snow and cache-cache in the park, and zip and zoom around the ice rink. Even learn words in French and Cree with pronunciation guides throughout the story.
