Promises at the edge of the underworld

Volume 12 turns on Dokja’s attempt to alter the Catastrophe of Floods scenario and the limits imposed by the story’s “plausibility.” Yuseung’s fate is framed against the many tragedies of Star Stream, while three promises give Dokja a personal reason to continue after her soul begins to fade. The description points toward a shift from trying to change events within the scenario to a journey into the underworld, linking the series’ large-scale catastrophe with a commitment made to one person.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Readers following Dokja’s continuing story in the Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint series.
  • Manhwa readers interested in fantasy scenarios, catastrophic stakes, and journeys into the underworld.
  • Readers drawn to stories where personal promises intersect with larger forces shaping events.

Book overview

Dokja risks it all to change the outcome of the Catastrophe of Floods scenario, but the efforts of one reader are nowhere near enough to overturn the inevitable flow of plausibility, and Yuseung's story ends up as just another one of the countless tragedies making up Star Stream. Or does it? As Yuseung's soul fades away from the mortal realm, Dokja makes three promises to her, and he will keep his word, even if it means venturing into the cold, dark depths of the underworld...
