A First Look at Colors Through Matching
Eric Carle’s bold artwork anchors a simple matching activity: a color appears in the top half of a page, and a pictured object in the bottom half offers its match. Examples include pink flowers and purple grapes, making color recognition the book’s central concept. The page design turns looking at familiar images into a small puzzle, with the answer presented visually alongside each color.
