A Christmas Eve test of staying awake

Sleepy Sheepy has one plan for Christmas Eve: stay up long enough to catch sight of Santa. The familiar holiday anticipation is framed around a farm-animal character whose determination meets the pull of sleep as the night wears on. Rhyming text and expressive illustrations shape the book as a read-aloud, with the central question—whether Sheepy will make it to Santa’s visit—giving the story its simple seasonal through-line. It’s part of the Sleepy Sheepy series, alongside titles including *Sleepy Sheepy*, *Creepy Sheepy*, and *Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Sheepy*.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

Book overview

It's a very Sheepy Christmas!

From New York Times bestselling illustrator Pete Oswald and critically acclaimed author Lucy Ruth Cummins comes the perfect Christmas read-aloud for any little one who has ever stayed up late to see Santa Claus!

'Twas one sleep before Christmas when all through his home,
just one creature was stirring and slurping some foam.
His stocking was hung by the chimney quite tight
in the hopes that Santa would visit that night!

It's Christmas eve and Sleepy Sheepy has just one thing on his mind: staying up to catch sight of Santa Claus! But as it gets later and later, Sleepy Sheepy gets quite . . . well . . . SLEEPY! Will everyone's favorite sheep be able to stay awake long enough to see Santa?

With jolly rhyming text and brought to life with hilariously expressive art, Merry Christmas, Sleepy Sheepy! is a not-to-be-missed Christmas romp as Sleepy Sheepy tries desperately to stay awake to see Santa Claus.

Don't miss the other books in the series, Sleepy Sheepy, Sleepy Sheepy and the Sheepover, Creepy Sheepy, and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Sheepy!
