A story within a story, shaped by confinement

The premise links a hospital-prison patient’s writing to the tale he creates: an unknown author stages a bank robbery with a banana in hopes of gaining publicity, then faces the question of whether psychiatry will allow that plan to succeed. This layered setup brings together recognition, criminal justice and mental health, while the framing account places the act of writing inside a setting of confinement. The description presents the inner story as an attempt to become known, not simply as a robbery plot.

Good fit for readers who enjoy
