Romance and rivalries in volume seven

Volume seven moves Risa and Zen’s relationship into unfamiliar territory as Risa considers what taking things further might mean. Her growing friendship with Kuma-san adds another change to her social world, while Zen’s rival Fuumin enters her cram school to prepare for university entrance exams. His effort to study—and the distraction of having Risa on his mind—brings the romantic triangle into the school-and-exam setting. The volume’s focus is the shifting balance among new intimacy, friendship, competition, and academic ambition.
