Book overview
Music is a powerful tool. It can be used to help the church, and it can be used to hurt it.
Satan has used this powerful tool to deceive many today.
He has taken false doctrine and worldliness, sprinkled a little Jesus on top, and used it to slip inside the church.
And here is the problem: this music has a different spirit.
There is a driving force behind it one that can be felt and experienced.
Emotion isn't always a bad thing either. The issue is discerning whether that emotion is of God.
That is what this book is about.
The Leaven of CCM traces the roots of contemporary Christian music and examines its fruit. When it started, where it came from, and who started it.
The evidence speaks for itself.
This book also examines what the Bible says about music and compares it to this movement. This is not about preference or style. It is about Bible doctrine.
So why call it leaven? In Scripture, leaven is oftentimes a picture of hypocrisy, something small and hidden that quietly spreads through the whole lump.
And that is exactly what CCM is: a Trojan horse.
On the outside, it appears spiritual, a form of godliness, but it denies the power thereof.
It is doctrinally shallow, emotionally driven, and it has made its way into churches of every kind.
The truth is we cannot worship God any way we want.
He must be worshipped in spirit and in truth.
If you have ever wondered where this music came from or sensed there was more behind it than meets the eye, this book will uncover the truth and what the Bible says about it.
