Geralt’s early adventures, with eight new illustrations

The Last Wish is a story collection introducing Geralt of Rivia, a magically enhanced monster hunter who travels a world where the line between human and monstrous is not always clear. Its descriptions of his work point to a recurring tension: appearances can mislead, and familiar fairy-tale ideas may hold a grain of truth. This deluxe hardcover edition adds a new cover and eight interior illustrations by multiple artists, giving the collection a visual dimension alongside its fantasy setting and linked stories.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Readers interested in epic fantasy centered on a professional monster hunter
  • Fans of fantasy collections with fairy-tale elements and questions of appearance and morality
  • Collectors seeking an illustrated hardcover edition

Geralt is a Witcher, a man whose magic powers, enhanced by long training and a mysterious elixir, have made him a brilliant fighter and a merciless hunter.

Yet he is no ordinary killer. Both revered and hated, he seeks out the vile fiends that ravage the land and attack the innocent, holding the line against the monsters that plague the world.

But not everything monstrous-looking is evil; not everything fair is good . . . and in every fairy tale there is a grain of truth.
