A new Batman, a fractured legacy

After Bane leaves Bruce Wayne unable to continue as Batman, Jean Paul Valley takes up the mantle. His increasingly violent approach to justice places the succession itself at the center of the conflict, as Nightwing and Robin confront the consequences of Bruce’s decision while Valley pursues revenge against Bane. The collected issues bring together stories from several Batman-related titles, framing the change of identity as both a battle over what Batman represents and a struggle over who has the authority to define that role.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • For readers interested in Batman stories about succession and the meaning of the mantle.
  • For superhero-comics readers seeking a story involving Bruce Wayne, Bane, Nightwing, Robin, and Jean Paul Valley.
