A mermaid princess balances royal responsibility and love

In the third Fins novel, Lily Sanderson chooses to remain Crown Princess Waterlily of Thalassinia. Her promise to Prince Tellin places her in the middle of a kingdom-wide effort: persuading the mermaid royals to cooperate as climate change and pollution harm their underwater home. At the same time, Quince must face three tests to prove his love for Lily, while she navigates her feelings for him and her obligations to Tellin. The book combines mermaid-kingdom politics, environmental concerns, and a romantic conflict, with the ocean’s fate and Lily’s personal commitments sharing the story’s focus.

Tera Lynn Childs brings a delightful mix of wit, romance, and fantasy to her books. Fins, her YA mermaid series, is a great pick for fans of humorous love stories. The perfect beach read!

In Just for Fins, third in the series, half-human, half-mermaid Lily Sanderson has decided to remain Crown Princess Waterlily of the mermaid kingdom Thalassinia. She's made a promise to help to help Prince Tellin.

Climate change and human pollution are causing suffering in his kingdom, and Lily and Tellin have to convince all the mermaid royals to work together to save the oceans.

Lily is distracted by the situation with Quince, the boy she loves. He must pass three tests to prove his love for her or they will be parted forever...

  • Duty Versus Love: Lily must unite the mer kingdoms to save the oceans, but her heart is on land with Quince, who faces his own impossible trials.
  • Environmental Fantasy: A YA fantasy that tackles real-world problems as Lily confronts the devastating effects of climate change and pollution on her underwater home.
  • Witty Teen Romance: Full of humor and heart, this clean romance is perfect for readers who love clever banter and a hero who will do anything for the girl he loves.
  • Mermaid Royal Politics: Navigating a bond-in-name-only with Prince Tellin and convincing bickering royals to cooperate might be even harder than passing magical tests.
