A penguin’s journey from the zoo to the South Pole

Jonty Gentoo sets out from the zoo after hearing his aunts’ stories of the South Pole, but his journey begins with a wrong turn. His search for the land of the gentoo penguins becomes a pole-to-pole adventure, with new friends along the way and a return home in the story’s frame. Julia Donaldson’s rhyming text and Axel Scheffler’s illustrations bring together an animal protagonist, an adventurous journey, and the challenge of finding one’s way.
