A reunion interrupted by power and captivity

Book 3 of the series separates Stirling Bakere and Amiria Rey just as they approach a confession. Stirling leaves the relative safety of Patu and returns to Lumierna in the hope of rescuing Amiria, who is imprisoned under King Dietrich and tormented by Calix Gautier. Their struggles bring questions of heroism and loyalty into conflict with the growing reach of those who seek to control others. Amiria must weigh escape against confronting the king she once vowed to protect, while both characters face battles that test who they have become. The story’s central tensions are rescue, resistance, and the costs of crossing boundaries of power.
