A farmyard gathers for a new arrival

Rooster’s urgent call sends the farm animals hurrying toward the barn, where they hope to greet the newest and tiniest member of the farm family. The story builds its action through repeated calls to hurry, get ready, and go, with the growing crowd adding to the commotion. Eve Bunting’s concise text is paired with Jeff Mack’s illustrations, and the book’s springtime and Easter framing places the birth announcement within a seasonal farmyard tale.

Good fit for readers who enjoy
