A picture book that speaks for itself

“I am a bad book” is the unsettling introduction to a book that addresses its reader directly. The supplied description pairs a simple picture-book format with a sinister premise: somewhere, a book exists that teaches very bad things, and it insists that even someone who rejects it now will want it someday. That tension between the familiar format and the book’s own warning gives the concept its shape.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Adults interested in sinister picture-book concepts
  • Manga shoppers drawn to books that address the reader directly
