A systematic study of Christian pneumatology

Developed from lectures at Dallas Theological Seminary, John F. Walvoord’s book offers an extensive treatment of the Christian doctrine of the Holy Spirit. Its scope is signaled by the publisher’s description of roughly 1,500 Scripture citations and an aim to present the subject comprehensively. The book examines the person and work of the Holy Spirit within the framework of the Trinity, connecting theological study with the Christian belief that the Spirit indwells believers. The lecture-based origins and substantial use of biblical references give the volume a clear place in theological study and teaching.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Theological students and pastors seeking an extensive treatment of pneumatology.
  • Lay readers who want a comprehensive presentation of Christian teaching about the Holy Spirit.
