A retirement B&B with an unexpected occupant

A Victorian inn in a small town is meant to be the retirement dream Vivian and her husband have brought from Atlanta. Instead, its history of departing owners comes with a spirit that disrupts the house just as the first guests are due. Vivian’s psychic-medium abilities and her husband’s practical skepticism set up the central tension, with a week to address the disturbances. Framed as a cozy fantasy rather than a mystery, the story centers on midlife change, a shared business venture, and an unusual household challenge; the description notes that no one has to die again.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Readers interested in cozy fantasy set in a small-town inn.
  • Those seeking a midlife-centered story involving a psychic medium and a skeptical spouse.
  • Readers who prefer a supernatural setup that is not presented as a murder mystery.

Book overview

A Victorian inn with a history. A secret psychic medium. Her skeptical C-suite husband. One week to manage a stubborn spirit before the first guests arrive.

A secret psychic medium and her practical, mostly skeptical C-suite husband from Atlanta think they've bought a dream small-town B&B for retirement. Instead, they get a house with a history of fast-fleeing owners and a stubborn spirit that messes with the lights, doors, and creates odd disturbances.

Can Vivian manage the ghost before the first guest arrives next weekend, or will her husband get spooked by the house and ditch the dream too?

This is a midlife cozy fantasy novel that takes place in a small town. And it's not a mystery, so no one has to die, at least not again.
