AlbakiReads Editorial

A story within a story, with a bedtime-sized challenge

An elf writer faces an unusual assignment when a sleep-deprived dragon proves difficult to settle. The solution is to create a tale designed to be both exciting and sleep-inspiring, giving the book a playful story-within-a-story premise. Its adventure element comes through the elf’s encounter with the dragon, while the bedtime frame keeps storytelling itself at the center. The setup also brings together suspense and the familiar hope of a story that helps someone drift off, without giving away what the elf writes.
