A summer friendship by the sea

Set in a seaside town on the Italian Riviera, this early reader brings Luca’s summer adventures into a simple story about friendship and a secret shared by two boys: they are sea monsters from beneath the water. Gelato, pasta and scooter rides frame the tale’s familiar childhood pleasures, while the hidden identity gives the friends’ fun a complication. As a Step 2 Step into Reading book, it uses basic vocabulary and short sentences, with support for children who are beginning to sound out unfamiliar words.
