An Inuit creation story for young readers
Drawing on an ancient Inuit traditional story, this picture book traces the emergence of the first humans and the beginnings of the world’s peoples. Its central image—a simple mound of dirt transformed through magic and intention—gives the origin story a clear visual anchor, while the world takes shape across the pages. Maika Harper retells the tale for a new generation, bringing Inuit storytelling tradition into a picture-book format.
