French reading practice across stories, history, and literature

Organized in three sections, this reader moves from a cultural exchange between an American and a Parisian to episodes from French history, then to four abridged short stories by French authors. The readings increase in difficulty, with post-reading exercises that reinforce comprehension. An accompanying app adds vocabulary flashcards, audio for numerous passages, a record-yourself pronunciation feature, and a glossary. Together, the book and app connect language practice with cultural and historical material, while introducing learners to selected works of French literature.
