A picture-book game of “I spy”

Each Peach Pear Plum turns familiar nursery-rhyme and fairy-tale figures into a visual search game. Allan Ahlberg’s short, rhyming lines invite children to look closely through Janet Ahlberg’s illustrations for characters such as Tom Thumb and Bo-Peep. The simple pattern links the words and pictures, giving the book an interactive structure that can be revisited as children spot different details. Its blend of familiar characters, rhymes, and picture-based searching makes looking and listening part of the same activity.
