A duck’s rise through public office

Beginning at a humble pond, Duck’s ambitions carry him through roles on a farm and in government, all the way to a possible run for president. The escalating campaign premise gives this humorous picture book a playful way to introduce political offices and elections. Its subject also opens a simple conversation about leadership and what it means to seek a vote, while keeping the focus on an animal’s improbable path into public life.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

Book overview

From the New York Times bestselling creators of Click, Clack, Moo, comes an entertaning introduction to politics.

My fellow Americans:

It is our pleasure, our honor, our duty as citizens to present to you Duck for President. Here is a duck who began in a humble pond. Who worked his way to farmer. To governor. And now, perhaps, to the highest office in the land.

Some say, if he walks like a duck and talks like a duck, he is a duck.

We say, if he walks like a duck and talks like a duck, he will be the next president of the United States of America.

Thank you for your vote.
