AlbakiReads Editorial

A first try at toothbrushing with Stitch

Stitch’s attempts to brush his teeth give this board book a simple, recognizable focus: learning an everyday routine through repetition. Lilo demonstrates the task as Stitch keeps trying, while the refrain “Try again, Stitch!” gives the read-aloud a recurring cue. The book also includes a textured-glitter toothpaste cover and a mirror inside, connecting the story to the small reader’s own brushing routine. At 12 pages, it’s built around one early milestone rather than a broader set of body concepts.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Toddlers beginning to learn about toothbrushing
  • Families seeking a short read-aloud tied to an everyday routine
  • Young Disney fans who enjoy Lilo and Stitch

Book overview

Time to get your toothbrush out--not your hairbrush! Try again, Stitch!

Stitch tries and tries again to brush his teeth in this silly, sweet board book perfect for read aloud fun with little ones!

Toddlers will love joining their favorite blue alien on his hilariously chaotic journey to master the art of brushing his teeth. With Lilo by his side patiently displaying the correct way to do it, Stitch tries, fumbles, and tries again to get every step right in Toothbrushes Are for Teeth.

With special features like textured glitter toothpaste on the cover and a surprise mirror inside, little ones won't be able to resist smiling along with Lilo and Stitch and showing off their own pearly whites. A repeated refrain of "Try again, Stitch!" makes this 12-page story perfect for read aloud fun with young children as they start to tackle one of life's earliest milestones: brushing their teeth!
