A father’s role in family life

Myloreal Anderson frames fatherhood as active care: showing up emotionally, nurturing, guiding, and helping create stability for a child. The description pushes beyond the idea that a father’s contribution is limited to financial support or protection, and presents caregiving as a shared family responsibility. Its emphasis is on fathers’ capacity to be present and involved in their children’s lives.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Fathers looking for an affirmation of their role in everyday caregiving
  • Families interested in books about fatherhood and shared parenting
  • Shoppers seeking a family-life title for very young children

Book overview

I wrote this book because I'm just a dad living in a world where we've lost sight of the basics of family. Too often the weight of raising a child is placed almost entirely on the mother, even though it has always taken a village. As a father, I wanted to remind other proud dads out there that we carry real power too: the power to show up, to nurture, to guide, and to love. Our role isn't limited to providing financially and protecting; it's about being present emotionally, creating stability, and helping shape the world our children grow into. This book is my reminder to myself and to every father that we are needed, and we are capable.
