The Beatitudes and the Seven Last Words
Fulton J. Sheen connects two defining moments in the Gospel accounts: Christ’s early teachings in the Sermon on the Mount and his final words from the cross. First published in 1937 and reprinted here as a facsimile of the 1952 edition, the book considers how these teachings relate to one another. Its subject is the relationship between Christian instruction and the words spoken at the crucifixion, presented as a reflection on foundational teachings of Christ.
