Book overview
In the wild heart of Ireland, a young journalist unearths family secrets, ancient magic, and the language of horses where every beat of hooves echoes her own longing for home.
Charlotte Dalton's life has always been tethered to the rhythms of her family's New Hampshire farm, but when Horse Happenings magazine sends her to Ireland to report on Connemara Ponies, she's swept into a country where myth and reality blur at the edge of the emerald fields. Haunted by whispers in her ears since childhood, Charlotte soon discovers the source isn't only in her mind, or even in this world.
As she immerses herself in the Irish countryside, Charlotte finds kinship with the Shanahan siblings, the steadfast ponies, and the secrets buried under rain-soaked peat. Strand by strand, her story interweaves with castles, fairy trees, therapeutic riding, and a legacy that echoes across oceans and generations. Amid the laughter with new friends and bittersweet goodbyes, Charlotte must face an impossible choice between the magic of ancient bloodlines and the love blooming beneath unfamiliar skies.
Luminous and enchanting, Connemara Moon beckons readers to a world where animals speak if you listen closely enough and where home might be found in the most unexpected of places. Readers who savor heartfelt journeys and crave armchair travel brimming with Celtic legend and romance will be swept away by Sally Batton's unforgettable tale.
