Bianca through surreal dreamscapes

Collecting erotic comics stories from 1968 to 1991, this volume brings Bianca through a shifting sequence of gothic-school episodes and fantastical scenarios, including underwater encounters and transformations. The description leaves open whether the school is a trap or a haunting, while Bianca moves between it and a series of dreamscapes. Later, she faces adventures linked to Gulliver, before Valentina takes over for a reflective, full-color fashion dream that connects her with Bianca and Crepax. The collection’s defining thread is its movement among gothic imagery, absurd transformations, and dreamlike encounters, with Bianca at its center for much of the volume.

Good fit for readers who enjoy

  • Adult readers interested in erotic comics.
  • Readers seeking surreal and dreamlike comic scenarios.
  • Fans of Bianca or Valentina, as presented in Crepax’s comics.

Book overview

These erotic comics stories, spanning 1968-1991, chronicle the surreal adventures of Bianca. Introduced in the aptly named "An Expansive Story," the first two-thirds of this volume, Bianca appears to be trapped in (or haunted by?) a gothic boarding school, whose administrators and pupils have untoward and sinister designs. Bianca will bounce back and forth between this school and dreamscape after dreamscape--she becomes a plant, talks to fish while diving under the sea, is served up on a silver platter, thrown out with the garbage, witnesses a double homicide, and much more--unfazed as she contorts into ever-more-absurd scenarios. Then, Bianca faces the trials and tribulations of Gulliver before she hands the baton to Valentina, Crepax's most famous heroine. Who, feeling introspective, "speaks" to both Bianca and Crepax before modeling in a spectacular, full-color "fashion dream."
