Women’s history in a spectrum of color

Colors of Awesome! links women from history with memorable colors and clothing: Kamala Harris’s white pantsuit, Judy Garland’s ruby slippers, and Mamie Johnson’s blue baseball uniform are among the examples named. This concept board book brings together 24 women, using color as an organizing idea for an introduction to their accomplishments. Bold, vibrant illustrations accompany the historical figures. It is the third in Eva Chen and Derek Desierto’s series of concept board books, following titles organized around the alphabet and a countdown.

Good fit for readers who enjoy
