A Patriots rebuild centered on a rookie quarterback

Set in the world of the New England Patriots, the novel brings together a coach rebuilding after a difficult season, a heavily criticized first-round pick, and the teammates and team leadership around them. Coach Roddy McCracken’s effort to build a contender places rookie Stan Jueggerman and wide receiver Shep Mannix at the heart of the project, while linebacker Nelson Bomar’s contract hopes add another thread to the team’s story. The action travels between Foxboro and other host cities on the pursuit of a championship. The book’s football focus is paired with a Massachusetts setting that includes both eastern and western parts of the state.

After a brutal previous season, the New England Patriots have started anew. Charley Sperling, the team's owner, lights a fire under the linebacker when the player expresses strong interest in returning with a multi-year contract so he can retire as a Patriot.Under Coach McCracken's guidance, the story winds through Foxboro, Massachusetts, as well as several host cities in their quest for a championship.
