AlbakiReads Editorial

A penguin takes flight—sort of

Clive Penguin insists he is unimpressed by seagulls, even as their ability to fly catches his attention. Curious about the feeling of wind beneath his wings, he sets out to see whether soaring is within reach. The playful premise turns on the gap between what Clive claims and what he wants to try, giving the story a clear focus on curiosity and experimentation. The description also signals a twist, while leaving its details under wraps.

Book overview

From polar-exploring author Huw Lewis Jones and award-winning illustrator Ben Sanders comes a lovable tale about a curious penguin getting ready to spread his wings.

Clive Penguin is NOT impressed by seagulls. And he's definitely not at all jealous of the way they fly about all over the place. They're really nothing special. But when Clive wants to feel the wind beneath his wings, he decides flying can't be that difficult. Who says penguins can't swoop and soar through the sky?
